Loco Motion Fitness and Movement is a gym which focuses on efficient movement through all of the activities we have evolved to do as humans. Whether you are here to get back into shape, improve your balance and coordination, get ready for your first obstacle course race, unwind from the daily grind , or prepare yourself for whatever life throws at you, we are here to help you reach that goal.
Aaron's goal in opening Loco Motion Fitness & Movement is to help you move better, more efficiently, and to gain strength. An avid minimalist runner, obstacle course racer, and movement enthusiast, he saw a void in Central Florida for fun workouts that would translate to real-world usefulness. He couldn't find a gym like Loco Motion, so he opened one.
He's competed at World's Toughest Mudder (24 hour obstacle race), broken a world record for longest run in a gas mask (41 miles), and deployed several times with the military; however, his greatest achievements have always been seeing people have a better quality of life, when they make simple adjustments. His favorite motto when preparing a class is "Let's play!"

In december 2020 we had to make the tough decision to close down our physical location. This was due much lower class attendance after the initial shut down during the dovid-19 pandemic. full transparency, our owner is in the national guard and was called away for most of the year. without someone who could be here 25/8 to answer phone calls, make content and greet everyone at the door, it became nearly impossible to drive traffic to our brick and mortar location.
we are working to create an online training community for you to browse and train with as well as downloadable training programs for those that just need to know moves and sets:reps:sequence. our goal is to reintroduce outdoor classes in late summer of 2021 and eventually have another physical location. thank you all for your support and continued interest in this thing called movement.

What is Movement?
In its most basic terms, movement is doing all the things we as humans should be able to naturally do. Crawling, climbing, getting off the ground, getting to the ground, jumping, balancing, etc.
Movement is all the things you see a child doing and think, "I wish I could still..." The good news is, you CAN! Our bodies are amazingly adaptive and we have the ability to regain much of what we think we've lost.
Movement is relearning what it feels like to be a human, in our most primitive state. To be capable again.

Each brings their own fitness specialty and unique training style, but all are committed to ensuring safe and effective workouts. Animal Flow involves ground based bodyweight exercises which use the movements of animals to improve strength and flexibility through all planes of motion. This is done with a set of warm-ups, form specific stretches and activations, followed by crawling, focused movement techniques and then it is wrapped up in your final flow and a cool-down.
Put simply: it is learning the most efficient and effective way(s) of doing all the things we as human beings have evolved to do. This includes crawling, walking, running, jumping/landing, lifting/carrying, catching/throwing. If you it doesn't relate to something in the real world, it is not taught in this class.
Functional flexibility goes beyond just stretching and implements ground movement, foam rolling, myofacial release both with and without props, and an ever-evolving list of mobility exercises. Individual teachers will vary from dynamic stretches or longer holds, depending on the needs of the students. You'll leave class feeling better, more capable, and ready for whatever comes next.
